Corporate sustainability apiary

For companies that want to be responsible

Corporate sustainability apiary - it's not just about honey, but real help for nature

We believe that protecting our planet and its small but extremely important inhabitants – wild pollinating insects – requires joint action. We invite companies that share this concern to establish partnerships for biodiversity and environmental education.

One of the most picturesque and tangible symbols of such commitment could be a corporate beehives, run under our supervision. However, it is much more than just hives full of bees – it is real support for our entire mission to protect wild pollinators and their natural habitats.

Your own company beehives?
A mission beyond honey

Our priority is to protect and support wild pollinators – solitary bees, bumblebees, butterflies – their role in ecosystems is invaluable, and their populations really need support. Honey bees, as farm animals, are cared for by beekeepers. Wild species, on the other hand, are often overlooked, even though without them the biodiversity of our environment would suffer drastically.
Therefore, an apiary is not only an aesthetic addition to a company’s space or a marketing gadget, but also translates into concrete actions and support for the Foundation in carrying out its mission – the funds raised are used to finance our statutory activities.

By partnering with us, which may include setting up an apiary, your company will directly contribute to:

  • Creating and restoring habitats for wild pollinators (flower meadows, tree-lined avenues, flower beds, plantings).
  • Establishing ecological corridors that facilitate the migration and foraging of insects (and other animals).
  • Conducting workshops, lectures, webinars, and educational campaigns to raise environmental awareness.
  • Carrying out research and monitoring projects on pollinators in cooperation with the University of Warmia and Mazury.

Company apairy are not only decorative, but above all a tool for raising funds for real help for nature through our Foundation. It is a way of demonstrating the donor’s social responsibility and concern for the natural environment. Such activities are not only necessary, but also expected by stakeholders, especially those from Gen Z (customers, brand supporters, employees).

Joint projects, symbolized by the company apiary, produce visible results in the public space and have a real impact. What is more, this impact can last not only for years, but for decades.

Benefits for your business
from setting up a corporate apiary

By partnering with us, which may include an apiary, your company gains:

  • Credibility in environmental commitment: Tangible proof of real pro-environmental actions.
  • Strengthening of a responsible brand image: You show that your company thinks ahead and invests in sustainable development.
  • Unique communication material: The story of your own apiary and support for wild pollinators is an excellent topic for PR, CSR, and marketing activities.
  • Unique gifts: Honey from the “company” apiary (about 7 kg per hive per year), with the possibility of branding, is an original and valuable gift for employees or business partners.
  • Opportunity to engage the team: Jointly creating hive designs for the company, painting them, visiting the apiary, or participating in ecological workshops is a great way to integrate.
  • Professional materials: In cooperation with our marketing agency, Range, we provide access to photos and videos documenting the life of the apiary and our activities, which can be used in communication.

Responsible business partnership:
company apiaries as part of a broader strategy

At The Bee Must Be Ecological Foundation, we ensure that all activities are conducted in a transparent, ethical, responsible manner that yields measurable benefits. That is why the company apiary is always part of a broader agreement on cooperation for environmental protection and education. We care primarily about the welfare of bees and support for the ecosystem, rather than maximizing honey production. We use natural, extensive methods without overexploiting bee colonies. Nevertheless, we obtain enough honey to make gifts for our donors – a sweet symbol of our partnership for the environment.

This approach also allows us to avoid the negative phenomenon known as “beewashing”. This is the use of the image of the honeybee to create a pro-ecological image of a company, which does not always translate into real help for endangered species. We transparently communicate that our main goal is to help wild pollinators, and our Donors’ company hives are a tool to finance this mission.

Our apiaries:

  • They are small (usually 3-8 hives), focused on the welfare of bees rather than mass honey production.
  • They are located in safe, agricultural areas of Warmia, rich in natural food sources. This location minimizes the risk of competition with wild pollinators for food, which is crucial for their protection – unlike urban apiaries, which can pose a threat to them. unlike urban apiaries, which can pose a threat to them.
  • The beehives are handmade in our carpentry workshop, often artistically decorated (including with the company logo), making them an attractive visual element.

They symbolize long-term commitment – we sign contracts for a minimum of two years so that bee colonies can settle in and develop steadily.

How to start your own company apiary with us?

Setting up a company apiary with us is always a well-thought-out process, resulting from a partnership and shared goals. It is not just a matter of placing beehives, but a process in which the apiary becomes a beautiful symbol of your commitment to our mission of supporting the environment.

1. Setting goals and cooperation plan

It all starts with a conversation. We meet to discuss our common goals and opportunities for cooperation. This is when we can better understand your company’s values and show how an apiary can become a symbol of broader environmental activities. An example? Timac Agro, a company known for its concern for soil health and organic farming, decided that its company hives would be decorated with ears of grain, symbolizing its connection with nature and healthy soil.

Together, we’ll decide what works best for your company. It could be a small, symbolic apiary in your company colors, like the ones we’ve done for Eurocash and Viessmann. Or a larger project, such as the Tikkurila Apiary, where all the hives are artistically painted with the brand’s paints in natural, harmonious colors that blend beautifully with the surroundings. This is a perfect example of how an apiary can become not only part of environmental activities, but also a unique visual feature.

Each hive is not only a functional shelter for bees, but also a carrier of symbolic values. The hives are handmade in the Foundation’s carpentry workshop and often decorated with motifs related to the donor’s brand. The Orifarm apiary is an example of how natural raw materials can be combined with branding elements – the hives in this apiary are decorated with stylized herbs that are also used in their products.

Colonization of hives takes place early summer, when conditions are most favorable for young bee colonies. During this time, bees can develop in their new homes, build combs, and collect nectar from nearby flowers. Each apiary is populated at a time when bees have the best conditions for starting and developing.

Cooperation with us is not only about apiaries, but also broader activities for the benefit of wild pollinators and nature. At the same time, we implement educational projects, establish flower meadows, and create ecological corridors. Thanks to this, your company can not only enjoy honey from its own apiary, but also have a real impact on improving the environment and communicate this credibly.

On request, we can support your company in communicating its pro-environmental activities by creating photo and video materials or event reports. The beehives for Human2Human company were created in this spirit – painted by employees, they became great material for internal campaigns, building strong bonds within the team.
